Leaders in the Law Face-Off in One of the Fiercest Dodgeball Match-Ups at Dodging Through the Decades

The old saying, “you can’t run from the law” may be true when it comes to committing crimes. But for the Middlesex County District Attorney and Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, running from each other will be considered strategy, as the teams from two of the leading law organizations in Massachusetts prepare to meet mid-court for this year’s Dodging Through the Decades dodgeball tournament fundraiser.

No sirens.
No gavels.

Just a dozen or so fierce competitors and some well inflated rubber balls.

“This match is about supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham & Wakefield, who for five decades have been helping local children, teens and families through their programs,” said Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian. “But it is also about continuing our dodgeball dominance against our friends in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. We cannot wait to defend our title as the best dodgeballers in Middlesex County, and support the Boys & Girls Club mission in the process.”

“The Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham & Wakefield is a tireless advocate for young people and their families. We call on them so often to be our partners in supporting children and teens through prevention and education initiatives and Dodging for Dollars is a great way to give back,” said District Attorney Marian Ryan. “We have an enthusiastic group of players who share the Club’s commitment to service and we are looking forward to an exciting game next week.”

The teams are slated to face each other on the court (no pun intended) at the Stoneham Clubhouse on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 6 pm.

“This is definitely going to be one of the top 5 must-see match-ups of this year’s tournament,” says Anthony Guardia, tournament Commissioner and Chief Development Officer. “Both of these organizations have shown us incredible support throughout the last fifty years, and to see them go head-to-head to help us keep raising much needed funds is amazing.”
